Despacito was a track from the year 2017 that was released by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi. It was the most streamed and downloaded song in the world within 6 months. Mixing Reggaeton and pop was released in the year 2017 by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi with Daddy Yankee. The track became the most-streamed at that period within a span of six months. Billboard's Top 100 in 2015 had two songs mostly of Spanish languages, while the year 2016 saw four. In the midst of Despacito's fame in the year 2017, there were 19 mostly Spanish songs that were included in the top 100. Then in 2020 there were 41. Following Justin Bieber's bilingual remix of Despacito (2017) well-known musicians soon started collaborating with reggaeton performers including Drake with Bad Bunny on MIA (2018) and Madonna together with Maluma for Medellin (2019). In the year 2020, a handful of reggaeton artists were expressing displeasure at its inclination towards mainstream. However, a younger generation namely Rauw Alejandro, aimed to keep reggaeton evolving. The musician incorporated electronic dance music and others into his music.
