Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe is a child of a mixed-race family from South London in England. Her father is Nigerian-Swiss and her mother is English. Her family was raised in the south of a London council estate, and went to The Brit School at age fourteen. She received her Bachelor of Arts in acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. During her time at the academy, she appeared in numerous stage productions, including the King Henry V playing Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights portraying Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe first began her acting career with Storm Damage. In the years since, she's appeared as a guest on Teachers, Doctors, Casualty, and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's first film role was Woody Allen's 2007 film Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. Then, she appeared in Elisha, an episode of the BBC Three pilot drama, in West 10 LDN. In the same time, she starred as Ollie for six episodes of Trexx, Flipside, and Flipside. Also, the ITV2 series Secret Diary of a Call Girl featured her in 2008 as Bambi. Madekwe was a part of the comedy How to Lose Friends and alienate others (2008). Her theatre credits are Little Sweet Thing or Roy Williams as well as Flight Path of David Watson.
Madekwe's US debut came in 2009, with her drama The Beautiful Life. The show aired just two episodes before it was removed from The CW. Ashley Davenport, a character on ABC's Revenge drama series, was cast for her as Ashley Davenport. The show premiered in May 2013 and it was revealed that Madekwe who had appeared on the show as a series regular for the previous two seasons had decided to quit the show following a guest appearance in the premier episode of the new season. She was Tituba on the television program Salem between 2014 and 2016. Madekwe was married to her long-time lover, Iddo. Apart from Secret Diary of a Call Girl they have also worked with each other on Salem and Iddo Goldberg had an appearance with her on the show on TV.
Ashley Leggat, an actress who was twice nominated for a Gemini Award, comes from the large Hamilton family. Her family included her parents Roy and Patty along with four older brothers: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. Ashley's sports brothers played baseball during summers and hockey in the winter. Ashley couldn't walk, however she danced. This led to the fact that as she grew older, she discovered Baby Ballet. Ashley began to be a dancer immediately after that. Ashley continued to perform competitively through high school graduation, with top divisions like ballet, tap, Jazz, Pointe, Acrobatics, Musical Theatre, Lyrical Hip Hop, and much more. She was the top soloist in important competitions like International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, were all awarded to Ashley.
