Tom Selleck-2American actor Thomas William Selleck. His most well-known part was as Thomas Magnum, a private investigator in Magnum, P.I. (1980-1988) and for which the actor received five Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Lead actor in a Drama Series and won in 1985. Since 2010, Selleck has been co-starring in the role of New York City Police Commissioner Frank Reagan in the series Blue Bloods. In nine television films based upon the Robert B. Parker novels He played Jesse Stone, a troubled small-town police chief, beginning in the year 2005. Selleck also played Peter Mitchell an architect who is a bachelor as well as a bachelor architecture student in Three Men and a Baby (1987) as well as Three Men and a Little Lady(1990). In addition to his roles in Magnum, P.I., Selleck has appeared in more than 50 movies and television shows, including the movies Quigley Down Under, Mr. Baseball and Lassiter. He appeared in recurring television roles as Monica Geller's love-interest Dr. Richard Burke on Friends, as Lance White, the likeable and innocent partner in The Rockford Files, and as casino owner A.J. Cooper in Las Vegas. He also played the part in the lead role on the television western film The Sacketts, based on two of Louis L'Amour's books.Selleck is a California Army National Guard veteran as well as a spokesperson for the National Rifle Association (NRA) as well as an endorser in ads for National Review magazine, and co-founder of the Character Counts! organization.
