
Sadoski started his stage career in theatre as an understudy for Mark Ruffalo (Mark Rosenthal) in an Off-Broadway production the Second Stage Theatre of Kenneth Lonergan's critically acclaimed play This is Our Youth. This production was the beginning of many more for the New York-based theater group. He has performed in numerous Broadway and Off Broadway productions and has also appeared in numerous productions of regional theaters. In 2008, he originated the part as Greg in Neil LaBute's production of reasons to be beautiful for MCC Theatre alongside The Newsroom co-star Alison Pill. The play was highly acclaimed Off-Broadway play that was a huge success and sold out. In April of 2009, it was moved to Broadway where it received three Tony Award nominations: Best actor: Sadoski; Best Actress: Marin Ireland; Best Play and three Drama Desk Award nominations: Best actor Best Director, Terry Kinney and Best Actor. 6 Neil LaBute credits Sadoski for being the catalyst for the widely praised shift in tone of the reasons to be beautiful from the playwright's previous works saying: "His own thoughtfulness and kindness helped me not go back to anything that I had done prior to that. My plays always conclude in a dark spot. I always thought that was the case in real life. there are always shades of gray, but I was able to see other shades in the palette." He played the role in Trip Wyeth, Jon Robin Baitz's Other Desert Cities. For this role, he received an Obie Award as well as a Lucille Lortel Award. The show (which, also after a sold out Off-Broadway run, was moved to Broadway in November 2011) was named Outstanding New Off-Broadway Play by the Outer Critics Circle in 2011. Sadoski, Ben Stiller, Edie Failco Jennifer Jason Leigh, Alison Pill and Alison Pill were also seen on Broadway in John Guare's House of Blue Leaves.
