Salma Hayek

SalmaSalma Hayek Pinault born Salma Valgarma Hayek Jamesenez on September 2, 1966 is an American and Mexican actress and producer. She started her career in Mexico with starring roles in the television drama Teresa (1989-1991) as well as the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) for which she earned an Ariel Award nomination. Through appearances in films like Desperado (1995), From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999) and Dogma (1999), she quickly made her mark in Hollywood. Hayek's portrayal of painter Frida Kahlo in the biographical film Frida (2002) which she also directed was the first Mexican actress to be recognized for the Academy Award for Best Actress[6In addition, she earned her Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and British Academy Film Award nominations. Hayek continued to make films, while starring in action-oriented films like Once Upon a Time in Mexico in subsequent years.
