Courtney Thorne-Smith Bio
American actor Courtney Thorne Smith (born November 8th 1997). Her roles include Alison Parker in Melrose Place, Georgia Thomas in Ally McBeal, Cheryl In According to Jim and Lyndsey McElroy's role in Two and a Half Men. Thorne Smith was born in San Francisco and raised in Menlo Park (a suburb to San Francisco). Her father, Walter Smith, was a market researcher for computers and her mother, Lora Thorne, was a therapy therapist. Courtney was seven when her parents separated. Courtney lived with both parents at various times. She has an older sister named Jennifer who works as an advertising executive. She attended Menlo-Atherton High School located in Atherton, California, and graduated from Tamalpais High School, in Mill Valley, California, in 1985. When she was in high school, she played with the Ensemble Theater Company of Mill Valley. Thorne Smith was a part of her first film appearance in the 1986 film Lucas alongside Winona Ryder and Corey Haim. In the latter half of the 1980s, she was also seen in a range of films, including Welcome to 18 (1986), Revenge of the Nerds II (Nerds in Paradise) (1987), Summer School (1987) and Side Out(90). In 1998, she starred in the box office hit Chairman of the Board , starring Carrot Top. In 2009, she was a character in Sorority Wars. In the beginning of the 1990s, Thorne Smith dated Andrew Shue, her on-screen lover from Melrose Place. In June 2000, she got married to geneticist Andrew Conrad; the couple separated in January 2001. On January 1st in 2007, she wed Roger Fishman, president of the marketing firm the Zizo Group and author of the book What I Know. At 40 years old she had her first child on January 11 on the 11th of January, 2008, to Jacob Emerson Fishman.
